One bottle of water
You’ll start the day from our dock on beautiful Urquhart’s Pond - and don’t let the name fool you, this isn’t just any pond! It is a broad, freshwater pond, fed by mountain spring water opening into the salty Bras d’Or Lake, and it is beautiful all on its own!
Our staff will greet you to answer questions, ensure you have all of the proper equipment including your picnic lunch, safely packed in a dry bag so it won’t get wet, and give you lots of tips for the best picnic spots.
Then, the day is yours! Keep an eye out for fish, geese, bald eagles, frogs, and lots of other wildlife. After paddling across the pond (about 30 minutes one way), pull your boats on shore to explore the beach, bask in the sun, and even have a swim in the refreshing waters of the Bras d’Or Lake.
